My Take on Network Marketing

I was introduced to Network marketing about a year and a half ago. In fact it was the first time I was exposed to any home based business opportunity ever. The idea was awesome and I was in a position emotionally to jump on board with it because I was exhausted with work and felt I was too busy to raise my own children! (At least it felt that way sometimes!)
At first I had some success. The product was wonderful but my main goal was to have more time with my family eventually. I had a full time job so finding the time was hard sometimes but fortunately it doesn't take a lot of time to get started with network marketing, or most other home biz opportunities for that matter. However I began to see the hard work I'd done in the beginning start to unravel when the distributors that I sponsored first dropped out. Okay, I thought, attrition is normal with this biz so I sponsored more people. Earned a little more money but nothing like what I expected.
To make a long story short, I ended up with no active distributors and I felt that I'd wasted alot of time and I definately did waste alot of money. I still use the product because as with most products in network marketing it was top of the line. I have been involved with another network marketing company and use some of their products. There again I've had no success even using a supposedly great system to recruit people. (In theory anyway) Don't get me wrong. I know some folks that had success with that system but it just wasn't for me.
So that's where I'm at with network marketing for now. I'm using a few products and have no money coming in from either company. I personally have had no success with it but I know people that have a rags to riches story that is genuine. Why didn't I succeed? I was a newbie but then that may not have alot to do with it. I know systems and your willingness to use them have something to do with it. Luck is another one! I'm not really sure but the 97% failure rate of distributors in network marketing seems to hold true. Duplication of my upline's systems and actions have been pounded into my head. I did everything they told me. It would be nice if I could duplicate some of their checks! Anyway, duplication is not always straight forward and is alot easier said than done! Who hears me out there!?
I'm getting into other home business options and internet marketing for now but I will always be open to network marketing as an option. I'm not trying to bash network marketers at all because I know too many people from working with them that have had success with it and I wish them well! Besides, the only real failure is to quit.
